Unpopular Opinion: the Dark Knight trilogy is the best thing to happen to Batman since The Dark Knight Returns. Just as the Arkham games were the best thing to happen to Batman games.
Ben’s Batman in BvS is still the best though.
I watched the ‘89 Batman in theaters. And Returns. I grew up loving that franchise and the characters because of those films. That said, Nicholson was just playing Nicholson, with Joker makeup.
Are the Dark Knight films perfect? No, but I feel they’re as close as we’re going to get, for a while. Which is the same sentiment a lot of people probably had about the Keaton films.
For many people Nolan's TDK is this generations Batman.Unpopular Opinion: the Dark Knight trilogy is the best thing to happen to Batman since The Dark Knight Returns. Just as the Arkham games were the best thing to happen to Batman games.
So is this a thing now? s*** on every little thing that comes out about a movie. Same thing happened with JOKER. We saw how it turned out.
Yep. The current process is:
1. s*** on the announcement of a new film
2. s*** on the leaked storyline
3. s*** on the casting. Repeat every time there's a new announcement.
4. s*** on the trailer
5. s*** on the critics when their reviews come out regardless of whether or not they liked it
6. Stream a s*** copy of the film instead of seeing it in the theaters.
7. Love the film
8. s*** on any earlier film from the same franchise because the new film is life.

BvS Bats is my Bats.
He had the single best fight scene I have ever seen in a comic book film.

Actually me and my buddy are excited to see this come out. I really haven't s*** on this film knowing how Pattinson was beyond Twilight and especially how The Lighthouse is now his best performance from A23.
Pattinson as an actor is much more than he was in the Twilight films--though a lot of people will never see him as anything other than the sparkly vampire. I think he'll do a good job as Batman, but he's got to have something decent to work with or it doesn't matter. I've lost a lot of faith in DC when it comes to their films, but I keep having a bit of hope stay alive that they'll get on the right track. I'd like to see them have some sort of continuity among their films. I just watched Avengers Endgame again, and I was blown away again by what they accomplished. Say what you want about the quality of some of the films or that the tone is generally too cheesy, but I would s*** my pants in the theater if DC did what Marvel was able to accomplish over the last decade. Imagine the Justice League, Justice League Dark, Teen Titans, Outsiders, Suicide Squad, and the Legion of Super-Heroes all racing across the screen toward Darkseid and his army.
