Unpopular Opinion: the Dark Knight trilogy is the best thing to happen to Batman since The Dark Knight Returns. Just as the Arkham games were the best thing to happen to Batman games.

Ben’s Batman in BvS is still the best though.

I watched the ‘89 Batman in theaters. And Returns. I grew up loving that franchise and the characters in general because of those films. That said, Nicholson was just playing Nicholson, with Joker makeup.

Are the Dark Knight films perfect? No. The fight scenes were meh. However, I feel they’re as close as we’re going to get, for a while. Which is the same sentiment a lot of people probably had about the Keaton films.

Man I can see trashing tdkr it has problems (but it’s still watchable) and hardy bane is cringe worthy bad. DK ledger was great and we all know it and that’s why we’ve all got at least 1 or 2 ledger jokers in our collections. Bale was a great Batman (except the voice) and the best Bruce Wayne. 89 Batman is terrible, I loved it in 89 but when I try to watch it again now that I’m 40 I get the same thought in my head as when I watched legend again “I can’t believe I loved this”. Jack is great and Keaton is cool but returns is way better than 89. Affleck was a cool Batman but the worst Bruce Wayne and Phoenix was my favorite joker yet; howeve, it almost doesn’t count cause it really just feels like a great film about a sociopath. Leto blew hard. Whatever this new Batman movie is I’m sure I’ll watch it and hopefully it’ll be great....but not so great that I feel the need to buy figures from it

Going to share that last notion with you, lol.

And I HATED Leto at first. After watching the film though, he grew on me. He’s still the weakest Joker, but he fits what they were going for in that universe... whatever becomes of it now.

Bale had the best Bruce Wayne, hands down. And yes, Affleck’s Bruce Wayne was meh. I wished he was more suave. Honestly don’t get the dislike for Bane though. I really liked his portrayal, bird voice and all.

haha yeah maul you get me, please lord grant me the strength to resist figures

Banes Voice is what destroyed it for me...and the hole in the ground he was raised in and Bruce running (on foot) from that hole in Istanbul to Gotham was just 😵 plus cat woman was lame etc etc but it’s still Batman so it’s cool. I mean I can find joy in bvs I can find joy in anything (except suicide squad).

I mean... what other villain can you so easily and accurately impersonate by simply using an empty pringles can? Make sure to clean it first though. You nasty asses.

I loved Catwoman in that film. Every inch of her.

The Batman in those films would have trekked far and wide to get back to Gotham. He had already overcome a lot in the films. It was entirely believable. Timespan would be my only issue.

Can’t say I’ll be interested in any figures from this. Bats, maybe.

For many people Nolan's TDK is this generations Batman.

For those unhappy with TDK trilogy they should be more welcoming of a new Batman movie universe.

I understand the views about Ledger's Joker just being a terrorist however his version worked perfectly for the universe. Phoenix was amazing but there's no way you could see him orchestrating the heists/bombing etc.

Haha some asspects of cat women were good I’ll give you that :sneaky: oh yeah that’s exactly what I meant maul that he walked from wherever he was to Gotham in what must have been an hour or two.

goose I totally agree I couldn’t see phoenix’s joker doing the bank heists and bombings either (at least not at his current stage in his developmen) just like I couldn’t see ledgers joker being as insane as Phoenix. Ledger was still totally cold blooded i mean the pencil trick was a pretty vicious way to kill someone

So is this a thing now? s*** on every little thing that comes out about a movie. Same thing happened with JOKER. We saw how it turned out.

Yep. The current process is:

1. Shit on the announcement of a new film
2. Shit on the leaked storyline
3. Shit on the casting. Repeat every time there's a new announcement.
4. Shit on the trailer
5. Shit on the critics when their reviews come out regardless of whether or not they liked it
6. Stream a shit copy of the film instead of seeing it in the theaters.
7. Love the film
8. Shit on any earlier film from the same franchise because the new film is life.

Actually me and my buddy are excited to see this come out. I really haven't shit on this film knowing how Pattinson was beyond Twilight and especially how The Lighthouse is now his best performance from A23.

Sad but true.

The casting so far is intriguing. The film definitely has more positives in it's favour so far.

The only movie that is truly, truly 100% trash was batman and robin.
None of the other ones had been as bad as sharknado or or whatever lol.

That's true. Some people just want to jump in on the internet bashing without ever actually watching the films.

Pattinson as an actor is much more than he was in the Twilight films--though a lot of people will never see him as anything other than the sparkly vampire. I think he'll do a good job as Batman, but he's got to have something decent to work with or it doesn't matter. I've lost a lot of faith in DC when it comes to their films, but I keep having a bit of hope stay alive that they'll get on the right track. I'd like to see them have some sort of continuity among their films. I just watched Avengers Endgame again, and I was blown away again by what they accomplished. Say what you want about the quality of some of the films or that the tone is generally too cheesy, but I would shit my pants in the theater if DC did what Marvel was able to accomplish over the last decade. Imagine the Justice League, Justice League Dark, Teen Titans, Outsiders, Suicide Squad, and the Legion of Super-Heroes all racing across the screen toward Darkseid and his army.
