The last theatrical Batman movie I enjoyed was the Lego Batman movie and the last theatrical DC movie I liked was Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. DC needs a miracle to be even half as good as the MCU, and that's sad because I'm a DC fanboy.

I mostly blame it on giving Zack "my Batman gets raped in prison" Snyder too much creative control and DC's still on a course correction ever since.

Batman hasn’t sucked since the late 90s in my opinion. But this... this is awful. This is way worse than casting Affleck. Robert fits more in line with something like the Flash.

I'm speaking about in live action. Bale was a bad Batman, so was Affleck. Kilmer was a better Batman than anything after him.

Affleck is my favorite on screen Bats/Bruce.

Are people against Pattinson solely because of Twilight? Keaton, West, Kilmer, Clooney, Bale and Affleck have all been in shit movies of their own. He seems a fine enough actor is other things I’ve seen him In.

I should also specify the BvS version is the one I love.

I’m against Pat because I flat out think he sucks. I can’t think of anything I’ve liked him in. Except Harry Potter.

Ben at least had a handful of good roles, in my honest opinion. And I was against him at first. The suit really helped him too though. That warehouse scene in BvS is still the single greatest fight scene Batman has EVER had.

They better know what they’re doing. If this flops... I won’t care about Batman on the big screen for years to come and I’m a huge fucking Batman fan.

Warner Bros has made such a mess of this whole thing. The Justice League, even as shitty as it was, would have been made worse without Batman.

I know it's a common thing to have serious doubts about a casting decision when it comes to batman, but I think it's a mistake to write him off just yet. Yes he's known as the guy from twilight but he's moved on far from that now and has done a lot of indie stuff and worked closely with directors to develop his craft. He was great in The Rover and Good Time (plus for a British guy, he can do accents really well). As a younger Bruce Wayne, I think it's good casting personally.

Affleck was pretty good for the role, was a decent Bruce Wayne, he just lost his confidence in the role and those movies were a mess. He was ridiculed for Daredevil and that anxiety must have come back after BvS got crapped on. He was phoning it in in JL.

He may end up doing a good job, but I just can't get excited about this until I see what they're actually doing with the movie. There's no point in getting my hopes up when DC hasn't been able to come up with a decent plan for their films. For all we know, this may end up being a one-and-done casting.
