DC Universe Swamp Thing Series

I need to catch up. I think I've missed the last 2 or 3 episodes. I'm enjoying it though. It's cool seeing them include Justice League Dark characters to the series. Hopefully they'll decide to continue the series somehow.

Finished the whole series last night. Good show. Had some minor flaws; quickly established two characters as gay for no reason (their sexual orientation was irrelevant to the story AND their characters), felt like True Blood at certain points (my wife used to watch that), at other points it felt like some daytime soap (she used to watch those too)! I was really impressed by Derek Mears. Shame he doesn't get more actual "acting" roles. He was great as Swamp Thing.

With the entire series released I got another free week trial and will binge through these. On episode six next. Honestly sort of love the mysticism and creepiness of some elements. It varies from decently dramatic to soap opera but I'm okay with it. Absolutely love Swamp Thing as a character.

Yea it has some neat moments here and there but overall, very soap opera drama and the soundtrack is cheesy. Still that first episode with all that The Thing moments...

didn't resolve anything from the season. The three cut episodes pretty much killed it. The Floronic Man scene showed what was to come, a Green battle ala issue 24.

At least Swampy looked good. Could have given Abby her white hair.

Still cannot get my self to get back to it. First three episodes were pretty damn bad and boring as fuck.

Crystal Reed, Henderson Wade and Maria Sten are FUCKING HORRIBLE. Are they bad actors or is directing just didn't exist on this show? Either way they're terrible leads.

The plot is paper thin yet they drag it on and on by using cheap drama that half the time has literally NOTHING to do with the Swamp Thing himself. Three episodes in and only ONE fight scene involving titular character... which lasts for 5 seconds and looks like a joke.

I think someone needs to watch more than three episodes. lol

I will, but only when I'm in the mood for more Will Patton and Kevin Durand.
And I do hope there's a LOT more of Derek Mears because he's awesome.

As the show ramps up you get more and more of him. Eventually the episodes almost feel 50/50 drama/swampy.

On episode eight. I now have two issues with this show. Firstly, Abby can't seem to keep her damned mouth shut and tells nearly everyone she runs into about swamp thing and who he is. Secondly, not a single person is ever scared of him. I'm sorry but it an eight foot walking talking plant monster was barreling down on me I'd be shitting my pants. Yet, everyone seems to want to stop and have a conversation with him. lol It's a bit ridiculous.

Alrighty, finished it. I think it held together fairly well until the last two or three episodes. The melodrama finally got to me and became a bit too much towards the end. Overall it wasnt bad. Just got a little too cw in later episodes.

I felt Blue Devil's design was cool but way too monster of the week which was disappointing. Then the main scientist turned into another monster of the week. Which was sort of eye rolling. Especially when he looked a lot like swampy and should have represented "the rot"

I felt Blue Devil's design was cool but way too monster of the week which was disappointing.

The actual design of the suit looks decent (I just recently found a couple behind-the-scenes pics of it). Just on-screen they added a weird, Dr. Manhattan glow and BARELY showed any of it clearly.
