Understandable. I'd say its not spoiler filled but gives out some new story elements. To be really honest I may sign up for this on the 31st. I have no interest in anything else but this has peeked my interest big time.
Well. Not sure how I feel about it. Doesn't follow the 1972 or 1982 series origins at all. Maybe is a new 52 take, but never read those. All the characters he meets, are just around all at once.
Alec isn't working on the Bio-Restorative Formula.
Someone shoots dynamite in his direction. it goes off, he gets injured and the swamp vines pull him in, poke him a bit and a few seconds later a fully formed Swamp Thing emerges..... The comics, he is blown up with the formula, soaking his body and runs aflame into the swamp. A few weeks later, Swamp Thing emerges.
I mean, it was good. The autopsy scene is straight out of The Thing. The growing vines look great. What we saw of ST looks fantastic. It's just going to take a bit to adjust from reading 20 years of ST.....
I haven’t watched the first episode yet, but it sounds like they’re going to focus on Swamp Thing being part of The Green like in the more recent comics. It may not be what old school fans are expecting, but it will allow for there to be a broader story if they progress out of the initial swamp location.
So far so good. I like the atmosphere they've created. The actings decent and gets better as it goes along. Abby's is pretty but not fake tv pretty and that helps me buy her in the role a little more than I normally would have. The asian guys acting seems out of place for some reason but he's not in it much. The guy playing Alec is the better actor and comes off somewhat charismatic thankfully. The writtings pretty good. Better than the typical tv schlock. They manage to stay away from a number of cliche moments that would otherwise make this too much like a cw show. Overall I really enjoyed the first episode. I hope it does well so we get a few more seasons. I look forward to seeing Swampy in action.
