The soundtrack also takes a monstrous Godzilla sized shit on anything that came before.
Def cannot agree with that. I do love the soundtrack very much, but the 2016 one is superior. That game was shorter and much more narrative driven thus the impact of its music is way higher, plus Gordon was forced to think on his feet and experiment so the actual sound is much more interesting and cool.

Not to mention that he didn't score DLCs and, while I don't have anything against Hulshult and Levy, you can hear how different their styles are right away and it hurts the overall picture.

Haven’t played the dlc, but “The Only Thing They Fear is You” plays a handful of times in the game and the sheer rush of combat married with that theme made me fucking piss testosterone out of every pore. 😂

I enjoyed the 2016 game. Besides the first two old games, it was the best thing Doom ever did. Until Doom Eternal. The game is a walking rage boner.

Put me as another one in the camp that liked 2016 better.

It worked more for me in every level, pretty much for every reason Riddick already stated.

I was pumped for eternal but felt it went full looney tunes, and lost the hard edge of the original.

I'm also a big fan of atmosphere in general and eternal had none where 2016 had it in droves. The music also reflected that, whereas eternal is pure aggression and not much else (but that'd fit with why maul likes it)

So theres no wrong answer here I guess, it just depends on what appeals individually.

If he’s supposed to be death incarnate, then Doom Eternal basically brings that to fruition.

There are few actual manly games out there. Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden 2, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal are about as big dick as you can get.

The og NG games were the shit, sad that they seem so forgotten now even within their niche of action games.

Itagaki leaving left a giant hole in TN for so many years. They finally put out their first good game without him in Nioh 2, so many years later. And still some of the move sets are copy and pasted from NG2 😂

Though the levels are boring compared to from soft games.

Been meaning to try out elden ring too, but even though it has a lot of hype, it doesnt seem all that much different to me than the souls games from what I've seen. Just souls with a horse. But the hype is off the charts comparitively

Wouldn’t really say any of the Souls type games are manly. They’re just difficult games is all. Elden Ring is good. So is Sekiro and Dark Souls. Both versions of Demons Souls are aces.

Most games now are just Barbie Doll simulators. Can’t just pop in something like Devil May Cry 3 and have fun anymore. Always gotta be some dumb ass agenda or a bunch of trivial excessive garbage in the way. Whether that’s cash shop shit, dlc galore or just whatever.

I'd say Sekiro gets closest to that manly kind of feel out of the from games, but aye the rest dont rate at all.

I do hope we get more gamds with that kind of combat vs the traditional souls combat soon

I love Souls games for the feeling of adventure and discovery that not a single other game could provide me before of since. "Elden Ring" brought that aspect to a new level and did it in such a way that I can forgire a lot of cut corners and reused assets. Just wish it was more traditional and epic when it comes to story fragments.

Oh, I’m not saying that Elden Ring, Sekiro, Demon’s Souls and the Dark Souls games (taken as a trilogy and not as one meager release) aren’t some fucking amazingly well-done games.

Are they manly though? Difficulty aside, they have a lot of femininity to them. Sekiro maybe not so much. It’s certainly more elegant in nature than say, Ninja Gaiden.

If you’re wanting to play a pure rage boner of a game, you really can’t beat Doom Eternal or even Doom 2016. Ninja Gaiden as well. If you get in the zone in either of those two game series’ you’re going to be fucking shit up and not even realizing it.

Master Ninja mode and Nightmare mode are just insanity. I don’t quite have the same skills as I did ten years ago. Smarter and more experienced yes, but not going to break my sanity over those difficulty settings these days.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves - 8.5/10

Great rival to Third Strike. I just wish it had a somewhat larger roster. I didn't get a chance to fight the true final boss since I took continues.

I'm currently stuck on KOF 99' with the cheap fucking final boss.

I think I'm gonna give it a 4/10
An overhyped mediocrity.

I have it on PS4. While you can see the money they put into it, after I beat it I never did another playthrough again. SM2 still has the best swinging ever. And that's not nostalgia goggles, since that game had a clear momentum engine in place.

I got the platinum on that game in one go. I enjoyed it a fair bit. Have not touched the Miles Morales game and only mildly interested in Spider-Man 2 at this point. The Wolverine game might be good though.

I know it was a tease but the Venom they showed for that looks like shit.

If it's not 90s Venom fuck off.

They want as many iconic characters as possible, even if they serve no purpose narratively. They don't know what to do with all these characters. They don't know how to make an epic game that doesn't feel like a boring slug between points of interest.

The story is shit. The narrative is shit. There's no focused artistic vision in it. It's a commercial product first and foremost.

And what's this shit about Dok Ock going paralyzed? The game is a mess. All that money and I felt numb throughout it. I stupidly bought the DLCs and they were just a waste.

I didn’t even play the last dlc. I had long since moved on.

I didn’t even play the last dlc. I had long since moved on.
It's about:
1. Sabel who's back and wanna stop Hammerhead cuz he's using her tech
2. Sabel who's fighting a dictatorship in her native country yet has time to go to NY to stop Hammerhead
3. Sabel who acts like a total bitch towards everyone, attacks and uses Spidey cuz "she doesn't know" him
4. Sabel who flies in her own jet and starts shootouts without thinking about laws or civilians
5. Sabel who's cool and heroic despite acting like a villain in main game and DLC
6. MJ who's leaving for Sabel's country because "she can make a difference" there, so Peter just literally just says "you're a hero, love you, bye"
7. Yuriko who's now a Punisher
8. 4th-wave feminism

You're welcome! (y)

I played SM recently as well on PC, and aside the improved graphics I also severely found it lacking.

For me it was mostly the moment to moment gameplay though. I just didnt find it engaging, the combat system was the weakest part of the game, like SoM mixed with the Arkham series but somehow completely shallow even though it was building off those.

The web swinging was better in SM2 or WoS as well, with proper physics and a full sense of control. It does look better in this game with all the animations, I'll give it that.

I agree with Riddick on the story too, everything shoehorned in for the sake of it, and the main campaign was so short to boot, it was over so soon. Which wasnt entirely a bad thing, I felt like I was finishing it as an obligation.

A shame, since I was so hyped for it.
