Agreed. I don’t give a shit about the humans in these films. They’re only there to look up, be scared, and get squished. Shitting their pants and running down the street is the extent of their involvement in the story.
I'd say worse, because in GINO14 they were playing it straight and actors were actually acting.
In this one no one acts, just makes faces and reads script.
Plus there's a lot of horrible teenage humor which is poorly mixed into dramatic tone.
Muricans just don't get it.
No one cares for human drama in this movies.
You need silly melodramatic characters for this stuff.
And you DO NOT make them part of the monster action. EVER!
. . .
I'm very dissapointed because I had high hopes after "Skull Island", which was a lot of fun (despite some issues).
I don't agree with that.
Most Japanese films incorporate human stories the right way.
And I actually remember characters from those, even secondary ones.
By the way, I had tons of fun watching "RAMPAGE".
It was a much better kaju film than this new GINO.

Actually i think WB has other plans.I don't think the average movie goer is just interested in big monster films like they are for superheroes and Disney remakes. Godzilla is still iconic but it's pretty niche compared to other franchises.
Sadly, GvK is going to be the last of this Godzilla universe. I can see Toho continuing doing their own films though.
