@Jotaro Something

So how OP did they make Rey in this compared to the last two movies? Do they even at least try to make her less of a Mary Sue?

Does Anakin make an appearance or get mentioned at all?

You're still getting reported for pirating it.

She's not obnoxious about not needing help like she was in TFA, there isn't a real consistent way to measure powers anymore, the force was never very coherent but now it's total nonsense. She gets magical powers out of nowhere, and the final act in trash. There isn't a proper fight at all it's just the most boring and poorly written Deus Ex I've ever seen.

I don't think of her as being OP she doesn't really have any ability it's all plot armor, its' artificial. But the bullshit at the end puts her above anyone in terms or power and abilities. It's bullshit

Anakin doesn't show up at all, the Lucas cut was thrown to the garbage

You're still getting reported for pirating it.

What are you talking about? Daisy came to my house with a promotional copy. She was dressed nicely and was obviously ovulating. But by the end of the movie I criticized it and her performance so much she stormed out crying. I have the feeling the night didn't go as she expected

Have you read these books?

I have the Path of Destruction. Also have the Darth Maul book. I really want a Revan film series. For the love of god. If we get another goody good as the hero, I may vomit.

PT are way over choreographed. Mainly the final battles. Although I always like the Obi/ Maul fight since Obi was angryz, you can tell by his tensing and untensing shoulders and slightly showing his teef.
I tend to agree with that. The Anakin and Obi-wan duel was so over the top that you almost can’t take it seriously until at the end, when Anakin is felled so easily. All the spinning and jumping and what not—it was too much. They tried so hard to outplay the TPM duel, which they failed honestly. It’s still the best showdown in the entire franchise.

I think it's really ****ty how Finn and Rose don't get together either. Instead they wrote some new girl in for Finn to follow around who is obviously meant to replace Rose's spot. Finn and Rose genuinely act like they barely know each other in this. I don't even remember them exchanging any dialogue whatsoever.

What they did to Hux made me sad too.

The contrast between The Mandalorian and the JJ Trilogy is stark. One demonstrates the virtue of telling a story simply, telling it well, and sometimes taking time to create a quiet moment for character growth.

And then there's The Rise of Skywalker. I suspect the writer's room went something like this: JJ Abrams brings in his staff and gives them all a stack of post-it notes. "What would be a cool thing to see? Write it down and stick it to the wall." Soon there's a hundred disconnected ideas without any narrative connecting tissue.

"Great. There's our movie."
"But there's no story."
"Nobody will notice. It's going to be so full it will feel like an event."

My kids said it felt like fan fic. I couldn't disagree.

It felt like it really wanted to be Endgame.
From Palpatine's "I am all the Sith" and Rey's "I am all the Jedi" back-and-forth, to a huge swarm of people ready to fight in their most dire moment, etc.

Someone pointed out that having Kylo be this mentally abused youth that Snoke groomed for years, who has lived a life full of nothing but misery, die literally right after he finally finds relief wasn't a very great decision. I hope anyone who relates to such situations doesn't take anything wrong away from that.

It's especially apparent when you look at the Kylo comics Marvel has been putting out.

I wish he and Rey could've both survived and rebuilt the Jedi order together. The final shot in TLJ shows there's still force users out there, what happened to that?

"I am all the Sith" meaning all the Sith reside within him, not "I am Sith". Same for Rey, who
is cheered on to rise up and keep fighting by the voices of all previous Jedi masters, who say they're with her.

I've realized the movie this reminds me of most is Batman Returns. I don't think of Batman Returns as a movie. It's a sketchbook of ideas inspired by the first Batman movie. Story wasn't even close to a priority in Batman Returns. It had some cool moments, some cringe moments... Michelle Pfieffer was amazing but the "saved by cats" scene was god-awful. It was terrific looking. It also had WTF moments like Batman punching through the floor of his car like it was a tin can. So much for armored car.

It's become a movie that I've only watched in bits and pieces in the years since. It's background noise that I might play on a TV and watch for a few minutes and then go back to whatever.

I doubt I'll ever sit down and watch Rise of Skywalker again from beginning to end. If I bump into it on TV I might let it distract me for a few minutes during a couple scenes.... but it is not an engrossing movie. It's not even a real movie. It's just a sketchbook.

Jye doesn’t like the movie. Just some parts. They also made a ST positive thread.

Crows was trying to get them to make negative and positive threads for movies at SSF for a long time. He probably doesn’t get credit for the idea now.
