Yeah, that’s going to be more common moving forward. BBTS almost never sells out of Hot Toys pre-orders anymore and anyone who has been paying attention the last four or five years knows that’s pretty telling.
Yet they keep raising the prices. Hot Toys standard is now $280, which is completely absurd considering how the overall quality of their figures wasn't evolving anywhere for the past six years and their QC only went downhill.

I believe they have dialed back the price a bit with some of the recent listings. BigBadToyStore is a good indication of how the market is doing and almost NONE of the figures sell out after 24 to 48 hours anymore. Prices were hitting $300 on average over the last year and now they seem to be stepping it back just slightly.
They need to realize that they are close to pricing out most collectors. That’s not to say that many won’t reevaluate and refocus their collections and start prioritizing only certain lines or types of figures. It’s going to hurt them though. Almost a decade ago, you could collect most of your favorite Star Wars characters, DC characters, Marvel characters, no telling how many cult classic type figures and a slew of various other more obscure characters.
Now? Nope, you have to tone it waaaaay down. It’s simply not justifiable for people to dip into everything anymore. And that’s cauterizing a huge chunk of their business.

You sure about $300? Sounds like either those were "deluxes" or just weren't regular figures.

No, a lot of their recent figures before the last month or so were hitting $300. That new Tobey Spider-Man should not be $300.
The new Tom Holland Spidey with the new homemade suit from the end of No Way Home… the headsculpt is one of the best I’ve ever seen and they actually connected the head to the body this time, instead of it being an ugly ass seperate piece. And it’s only like $280. It’s the best looking Spider-Man figure they’ve made to date. And the most accurate.

I know but it probably has to do something with SONY rights to the old films and/or Tobey's likeness. All the other Spider-men were still 260-270, and SM figures weren't considered standart ones to begin with.
1/6 RE I'm sticking around for forever. But out of that, I'm only getting offbrand stuff. HT doesn't put shit out I'm interested in at all. Although I'm thinking about getting that Wolverine even though it's stupidly priced.

Debating on keeping this guy. This is my custom version. I could sell it to have more room, and it would also help pay for the new Leon. Something has me wanting to keep it since its using old RPD uniform that was floating around awhile ago.
I should have known that DAMtoys would make one but it took so long for Leon to come out I thought it was one and done

I would keep it. I'm still holding onto my HH version with the RE4 knockoff head.

Hope you all are doing well. It’s been awhile for that I posted on here. What have you guys been mainly collecting so far?
My current setup. My RE shelf is crowded but i think it looks okay for now. This is my entire figure collection. As of right now I’m only sticking to lines i enjoy just because everything right now is so crazy expensive and they’re overstaturating the market with figures. Its just too much. For 1/6 I’m sticking to only RE related things
