The wife insisted we see this. It's a mixed bag but pretty much a shot for shot remake. Nothing stood out as particularly annoying or peculiar. I think disney played it safe for the most part. There were a few times I felt a bit bored but probably because I remember the cartoon so well. Nostalgia got me one or twice and it had some cute parts. Not horrible but not amazing.
The stand out even today is James Earl Jones. That mans acting and voice hasnt degraded for one second.
He’s the main reason I’m seeing it, but not the only one. I honestly don’t care what any of you say. For me, the Lion King was a bigger childhood event than The Phantom Menace and I know I’ll enjoy this film. The other live action stuff? Doubtful.
Thought it was good but did drag in spots. Voice for scar was good, as for most everyone else. Didn’t care for Seth Rogan. Haven’t watched the original since it came out. Did it have the fart jokes? The death scene was handled well.
The cgi looked nice as well. How To Train Your Dragon still has the best animation of anything this year but will be ignored.
