Bullshit... Uncharted should get this first since Uncharted is more like a episodic book with Chapters which could adapt well into being episodes.

Fuck a movie with Holland, like seriously if they got Nathan Fillion I'd be estastic if they announced a HBO series. But Last of Us?

Naughty Dog has been beating around the bush with hype for over two years where literally only hardcore fans care now.

Sony must not realize how much the zombie trend is flopping.

It's always funny to me when video games, that essentially steal elements from movies or tv shows are then made into.. movies or tv shows. Because in the medium of games, those elements are unique. But in the medium or movies/tv shows.. they're not. It's been done before. That's why most video game movies fail.

So like TLOU.. that's the Walking Dead and all zombie, infected movies. Uncharted, that's Indiana Jones, Romancing the Stone, etc. Max Payne was a disaster because the biggest draw for that game was bullet time (stolen from The Matrix) and they couldn't use that in the film.. so it sucked.

Can’t say I care about this either. A movie would’ve been cool, back when the first game came out.

@DEVIL_666 Yeah but essentially all movies, tv and novels are the same stories. Some people may even argue that which we think are breakthrough in film is nothing new due such things being done back when film wasn't popular. Like Star Wars being Seven Samurai and few others mixed together. Everyone has stolen from something to make something "new".

My problem is that TLOU isn't EVEN remotely close to being popular in regards to other franchises. When I talk video games people don't look at Playstation exclusives as being TLOU, I hear mostly Uncharted the most.

I know all things are influenced by other things, and nothing is truly original anymore because of that fact. But what I was talking about specifically was the common practice of video games stealing movie elements (like Bullet Time from The Matrix) which in the medium of games, made it "new" because no game had done it before Max Payne. But then it becomes a problem when someone wants to turn that game into a movie because now, that novel thing/draw for the game isn't "new" anymore. And usually has to be removed.

And a lot of video games have done it.. and no one cared because they were two seperate mediums. But not anymore. So now you get video game movies that are forced to cut out all that "borrowed" material to the point that they end up having to create a completely different story than the game.

That's pretty much it. It was an interactive TWD which is why it lured a lot of people in and it was when the show was at it's height. I was thinking yesterday about this and it's been seven years since the game came out and I just can't be interested in it at this point, not to mention all the trailers didn't do it any favors at all.

Also...

Yeah, thank him for an incredibly dramatised and westernised version of historical events.

Yeah, because people needed a series to learn of the incident? What the flying fuck are they learning in school?

The only realism portrayed was everybody but the main characters and the accident itself. I've had a long interest in it far before the show.
