So when comic book movies start to not make hundreds of millions of dollars, the solution is to make the character gay.

Are there really that many gay people on the planet that care about comic book movies?

Can't wait for white Peter Parker swapping spit with black Michael Jane then jettison off to wrestle the tentacles of trans-gener Asian Doc Oct.

DC needs to hurry up and put John Constantine back on the big screen. A character whose history is already established as being bi. And actions already shown on CW.

I think it’s inevitable that I back off of comic book films. And I’ve spent god knows how much money on the films themselves and the subsequent merchandise.

If a lot more people like me follow this impending disenchantment... these companies definitely won’t be making billions of dollars and setting every record in the book with their future projects.

Have any of you actually seen this? rofl

Anyway, it was decent. Probably on the same level as homecoming. Felt a bit long though and I think most of that came from the european vacation aspects. Mysterio was pretty cool. Gyllenhaal does fine. My only real problem with this Spider-Man is he isn't very funny. That's often left up to the rest of the cast for some reason and Peter once in a great while. Ultimately if you found homecoming remotely enjoyable you'll like this as well.

I’ve got plans to see it, but we’ll see how that goes.

I’ve definitely had a love/hate relationship with this version of Spidey. He hasn’t been even close to as good as his introductory role in Civil War. And he doesn’t hold a candle to Tobey or Garfield, as a whole. Sure, Spider-Man 3 sucks and Garfield seems to get the most hate, but Tom’s Spidey sometimes feels like an empty shell.

I agree with most of that. I do kind of feel Tobeys version is dated at this point. I liked Garfields frantic energy more than anything. I can't say that I flat out love Toms but I think overall he feels like a natural fit for a modern teenager. Very haphazard and awkward. He shows a little more potential in Far From Home but I think they're building up to that more than anything.

None of them are even remotely close to classic comicbooky Spidey, so the whole "I like this version better" thing is kinda dumb. They're all way too different to compare. I like some elements from TASM and Homecoming, but couldn't care less for them as actual movies. I love first Raimi film because in terms of filmaking it is the best overall movie from start to finish, and because of its heart-over-matter narrative, unlike sequels and reboots.

The amount of gay people on the planet is less than population of a small country.
Racebending and sexbending are just publicity stunts, nothing more.

Okay then. That’s pretty fucked. Company policy? Really? I’d etched the spider web on there regardless.

Could they seriously have a headstone with Spidey on it destroyed? I'd do the webbing at least.

As for Far From Home.

Most of comedy in the MCU has been at least enjoyable to some funny moments. The comedy in FFH is awful. The least awful bits are in the trailers. The writers of this flick also just combined plot of The Incredibles and 1/2 Batman Forever villain.

Yes, Beck is a disgruntled Stark Employee. Yes. 2-2 on Stark interacted villains for Spidey. Yes, Spidey is Kid Iron Man. That aside, everything else about Mysterio was awesome. The practicality of the illusions were handled well. Loved the 'real world' getup. Jake Gyllenhaal was pretty good. So they are 2-2 in actors who put in a good performance as the bad guy.

While Peter was using Iron Man tech to make a suit, it was nice that he was actually designing what he wanted.

The action was pretty good. CGI pretty good.

The school stuff sucks, move on please.

This MJ is a wooden fence post. She is dull and lifeless. Why the fauk would Peter be all up in her? Kill her and bring in Gwen.

It was nice seeing JJJ back but the name reveal at the end is terrible. Awful. You know the "I am Spider-Man" moment is going to come.

Yeah, don't know anyone who'd be into some chick that's a constant downer and obssesed with death. Towards the end I feel like they lightened her character up the tiiiniest amount and I'm hoping they do it more and more. That or like you said kill her off.

Saw this yesterday. There was some of the best comic scenes in a movie and some of the most bleh pacing. I didn’t really care for it. Didn’t hate it. But didn’t really think it was great either.

From people I heard who Pirented (Pirate spin word) it's blah and adds nothing to get hypes up of a MCU phase 4. I never liked Tom Holland and with his latest statement of Gay Spider-Man. Considering he did THIS:

Does not surprise me in his response at all... To be honest, scratch what I said... I hate the prick. He's a pompous ass loser of a actor who gets over-hyped. And as much as a Uncharted fan I am, I honestly want to see the movie bomb if he's in it now. $ONY can go fuck themselves on that level to dissing Nathan Fillion. I'd rather rewatch Fillion's 15 minute short 10 times over than see Tom Holland for 2 hours.

But not to sidetrack with them bringing in a certain actor
J.K. Simmons
, there's no excuse that if Fiege really wanted a established Spider-Man he could have officially grafted in Rami's IF he had ever asked Sony. That way we didn't need a established new dude... I mean if you bring in one dude for a 20 second line why couldn't you bring in a actor who was already a mature Spider-Man?

I didn’t really like this at all. Maybe I was tired, but I’d only rank this a bit above TASM. Maybe on the same level. Gyllenhaal was the best part of this for me, and his effects were handled in a really cool, modern way. I loved the “that wasn’t so hard, was it?” Gyllenhaal is to FFH as Keaton was to Homecoming.

Gyllenhaal is to FFH as Keaton was to Homecoming.

So basically the only good part of the movie?

And yeah I had my doubts about this flick the moment it started getting 92% and such on RT and certain websites were gushing about it. It’s just become an automatic warning sign for me now.

This movie was kind of boring.
They literally show all the big set pieces in the trailer.
Mysterio doesnt do much. Weak motivation.
Spiderman barely does anything cool.

For such a long movie, anything barely happens. This movie could be condensed to a 30 minute episode of a show and you would not miss anything important

I dont hate it, it wasnt bad. It just feels like a long episode if a tv show. It gets stretchedout just to have a long running time.

Having the kids on a trip and out of school limits the plots and character interactions extremely.

To me, the MCU is finished. I'll still see a few movies but I'm not invested in the overall story arc. Thanks Brie Larson and Feige
