Ewan McGregor may be picking up his lightsaber again. The 48-year-old Scottish actor is in talks about reprising his role as the heartfelt but headstrong Jedi master known as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a yet-to-be-titled Disney+ series, Deadline has confirmed.

They probably had all intentions of the project being a film prior to Solo flopping that it got them shook.

So, instead of doing a one and done film... they’d rather drag it on in a tv show? The logic behind that would make no sense. The budget difference wouldn’t be worth how shit the show would be in comparison.

Solo flopped because NO ONE asked for an origin movie for Han. And they used the wrong actor for the job, instead of using what could have been a damn near perfect young Harrison Ford.

And also... because TLJ left a terrible taste in a lot of fans mouths.

This series needs to dissapear like it did after the original trilogy to let things cool down for a decade of so. Or disappear altogether, which at this point is an even better idea.

I do think there needs to be a break. They don’t need to make money with films and live-action every year. They’ve got toys and the animation shows.

Nope I agree with Snake let it die. It has become nothing but a joke. Since EU was canned Disney been throwing Spaghetti at wall. Last week everyone was saying on YouTube Lucas owned 25% of PT, OT royalties. That Disney avoided anything Lucas made to avoid paying him.

Well looks like they doubled down by annoucing this to show they own it and will do whatever they want.

Tbh Star Wars ended with Filoni back rewriting the Clone War history and spitting down Karen Traviss' throat with her books she help bridge things with EU. I was done then in 2009 before Disney. 10 years later it's been nothing but popcorn eating.

Star Wars will never die, but it does get old after a while. It needs a good break from the public eye, in order to build up proper anticipation and excitement.

I’ve been a longtime fan and I honestly can’t say I’m excited about the next movie. I’ll see it, but it won’t hold a candle to the kind of anticipation I had for Endgame or Batman vs Superman.

It may not be a bad deal if they're limiting the number of episodes to 6-8. They need to avoid falling into the Marvel Netflix show trap of having too many filler episodes that make the season drag.
