I would think a human living underwater would prolly have translucent greenish blue skin. Granted, they would not be a whitey, but also would not be an African American.Im not mad that ariel is being changed. If anything it could make sense that Ariel living in the sea under the constant sun would have creamy skin. That could make sense in a realistic version of a mermaid. Specially when the story takes place in the Caribbean.
But they picked such an ugly nobody. I dont wanna be rude or a jerk.... but.... why this girl?
Wtf. Im trying to be as nice as i can. But, she really not pretty. At all....
It could never make sense since the story is an adaptation of a 19th century Danish fairy tale. Unless it takes place in African or Melanesian waters mermaids shouldn't be black, and that's the end of it.it could make sense...

And of course there's nothing realistic about mermaids - they simply cannot have human-like skin and face structure. So the whole idea that "realisticaly" they may have black skin is just as stupid.
