Anyone started watching this yet?


So far it's a fucking masterpiece and puts the last Berserk anime adaptation to shame in only 5 episodes (episode 5 and 6 are anime original and offer more character fleshing out and development that wasn't in the manga). I'm hoping they at least cover to the end of this big arc because there's some truly great stuff about to go down that made my draw drop when I saw it in the manga.

I started reading the manga about a month after starting Berserk in 2010, and I'm actually about 20 or so chapters behind the current manga arc online, as well. I started collecting the two-in-volumes when it got licensed by Kodansha Comics, though I did kind of lose track and I haven't got the newer releases.

Well 18 episodes in and it's already one of the best anime I've ever seen. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to get an adaptation of the manga to end up as good as this turned out to be.

I tried watching this. It didn’t hook me. The main character just seems like a bitch.

Doesn’t hold a candle to Berserk or Fist of the North Star, but maybe I’m biased.

Berserk is probably going to remain my #1 manga of all-time but I can't sit here and say VS doesn't rival and perhaps even edge it out in certain areas. For now it's not leaps above Berserk, but when it comes to quality of anime adaptation, VS takes the win easily. But much like Berserk, it's character-driven and has some wonderful writing that sets it apart from being just another violent series with no depth.

Never got into FOTNS aside from all the "You're already dead" memes I've seen over the years.

To me, it's always going to be Berserk/Vagabond and everything else is secondary.

Fist of the North Star is a great anime, if not a bit cheesy. But it knows it.

I read a good bit of the manga and loved it, but didn't stick with it. I can clearly see why it's loved though. I'll need to restart it and read it all the way through. Kenshiro basically started the Japanese institution of bad ass protagonists.

I tried reading Vs but I didn’t fall in love with it....maybe I’ll give it a second chance. The anime does look cool I’d like to see it. I agree berserk vagabond fotns and blade of the immortal are all my favorites. Fotns I’ve loved since the 80’s

Kenshiro inspired a lot of future anime. I have yet to actually finish it honestly. I’ve seen a lot of it, but not all.
