"You should be lucky they're even doing it. I hate people some times."

Why exactly? I should be thankful for table scraps?

It's already too different to be considered SH2, so no.
The only "new" way is the fanmade Enhanced Edition.

True enough tbh.
Nothing will ever top Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare, REmake, RE2, RE3, and Code Veronica. They’re all classic games.

REmake 1 is the only remake of any of these games that I’m putting on the list, because it wholly destroys the original Director’s Cut. The remake of RE2, while good, still falls short because of “Scenario B.”
Question, what about the first SH? I'd put RE4 up there too and sadly, I do agree with RE2R.

Who even asked for an SH 2 remake? I've never seen that come up ever.
After playing it recently (fan restoration) it's abundantly clear it never needed it. It still looks really good for a 2001 game, much like MGS2.

While I'm not against remakes, I'm against them when the overwhelming majority of them are bad and don't honor the original. Cut content, stupid design choices, bad music, and bad writing.

And you farm it out to a company that is known for bland walking sims.

The trailer had no classic OST, and looks like every third party bland walking horror sim on Steam. It won't have any of the brilliant directing, tone or atmosphere.

Look at this, and tell me this remake is even worth a second glance at.

The cutscenes in the original are astoundingly done. They're threatening and there's never any actual threat within them. They look scary with the use of lighting.

Basically that, or they're not even worth it with how IDENTICAL they are to the original like TLOU Part I. That one is so baffling.

The TLOU remake doesn't make any sense at all. Why did they feel the wheel needed to be invented. And it's one thing to just change faces, but it seems like most characters were rigged with a new body model too. Like I mentioned, I watched some playthrough footage and noticed Joel is noticeably smaller in mass. I've played that game with several dozen playthroughs and I picked up on it immediately.

I never cared for Silent Hill 1. Any game that I couldn’t play on the Dreamcast or PS2 got overlooked. And I don’t think they ever did a proper Silent Hill 1 remake or remaster.

The funny thing is I'd argue the different faces and bodies didn't work out in the game. TF is with Tess? Bill seems off (at least I think...). I do think you have a point on Joel. The fact that cutscenes are so identical and even some deliveries is stupid, why would I want to buy that? Gameplay was the big thing because TLOU II actually plays very well, so merging the gameplay of the sequel with the first game's story would be incredible.

Frankly, TLOU's remake absolutely has no place because TLOU Remastered is playable on the PS5...that scenario is sort of rare I think. Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story is the closest I found to being similar - the remake is on 3DS, which can play DS games including the DS original. The creators, fans and even Nintendo (to some extent) all agree it didn't make sense and it had little over the original as well.

We had Shattered Memories and that was it, but that's so far off from the original besides scenario. I will give it points for being so different and playing with expectations while being ok from what I saw.

SH1 is fine but it’s got those MGS1 graphics that have aged really poorly.

RE is timeless with pre rendered backgrounds.
Yeah for real lol. TBH a lot of MGS 1 has just aged poorly. I would like to see it get an RE1 quality remake.

I think new faces for REmake was perfectly fine since it was before the fad of AAA titles getting remakes. But with TLOU, it's egregious to do such a thing, especially when the new faces are measurably worse. Joel went from a scary fucking middle aged man built like a brick shithouse... to this soft eyed AARP senior citizen.

Although, PS1 games have such immense charm. There's plenty of fans out there doing restorations of old games to make them easier to look at. Something like FFVII just needs better models. All the backgrounds are just artwork. The world map could easily be reworked to just look more modern. There's some "HD" fan mods of it that make the models look like the artwork. No popeye arms and kid bodies.

REmake needed it imo and it made a difference. I'd argue it was like the icing on top of a spectacular package. TLOU...not at all. It basically gives the game less reason to exist due to how bad it went. At least we don't see Elliot Page (this is going to be so confusing........) in Ellie now I guess? That original debacle was so pathetic and for all I'll fault ND on, that wasn't really on them.

I actually still love the look of many PS1 games. Besides the fact that I find on some level certain ones still look fine, sometimes it...just works greatly. But when I say MGS 1 hasn't aged that well, I mean all around in some ways. Great time? Yeah.

Yeah they should have remade silent hill 1 if they wanted to do one, ps1 games in general aged poorly. No SH past that needs a remake.

And I wouldn't even want that remade if they're outsourcing it to 'Bloober Team'

It lacks all the atmosphere of the original, and I'm kind of glad they're changing the music so it will keep the OG Silent Hill 2 completely apart from it.

The only thing that seemed interesting from all the reveals was silent hill f, and even then I'm not sure how it will fit in.

I never cared for FFVII before the remake. I’m all for the Remake of FFVII. It beat out FFX and FFXIII, for me.

Glad to see a bigger youtooober shitting on it. God, those CG cutscenes are still astounding. Something about them looks so realistic and threatening.
