Wait, that's figuarts? FUCK that price. I was considering going into that line, but they can suck my hairy dick.
It’s the color variant exclusive. They weren’t cheap to begin with though. I believe they were the most expensive figuarts at the time of their release. I want to say in the days of $40 and $50 Figuarts, those suckers were almost $90, maybe a little under.

I'm getting really close to pulling the ejection handle on Dragonball. I've had it. I could turn around and make 20k on it whenever I want.

Just drop the completionist thing. Trust me, you’ll live longer. I have a lot of shit. A lot of it. But even I can’t buy entire lines. It’s just too much.

Also, if I wasn’t getting the PBandai stuff from PBandai, I wouldn’t even be getting it at all. At the prices they go for on ebay… are you fucking kidding me? Holy shit.

Figuarts and Hasbro are about the only lines I collect anymore. They’re getting most of my money. They both mess up quite a lot though.

To be honest, I think I’m nearing the end of the line, with collecting. Outside of a few keystone figures, there’s not much else I would want. I’ll probably continue to snag a Hasbro Marvel or Star Wars figure here and there and obviously Figuarts will never end their Dragon Ball line.

I almost want to just stick with Storm Collectibles. They get pricey, but they're so few and far between. I hardly buy 1/6 anymore.

I have a handful of 1/6 figures still on order. And I’m waiting for ROTJ Vader, EP1 Obi-Wan and Mace Windu. I honestly don’t think there’s anything after that.

Maybe a Gollum, if Asmus makes him? I don’t even think I’m getting the DMC4 Nero they’re planning. I do still want a Big Chap 2.0 and a proper Jungle Hunter 2.0, but those are likely never happening at this point. Not from Hot Toys anyway. They’ll probably reissue the AvP stuff just to keep the license.

By the way, I’m noticing a lot of stuff isn’t selling out on BBTS anymore. I mean, some of it still is, but they have a ton of stock left on things like Figuarts, bishoujo, hot toys, black series and marvel legends.

Some of it is stuff that’s been out quite a while. I don’t think people are buying the way they were before covid, even though we are supposedly getting back to work all across the country. It’s unlikely we will see the same volume being moved as before. These companies would do well to start taking notice of that. BBTS, despite its horseshit, is still probably the BIGGEST toy store in the world.

Maybe adjust the prices? Find a way to lower the cost. With a lot of people clearly dipping out of collecting, you’re looking at some dark times ahead. I know it seems far fetched, but I wouldn’t be surprised if production numbers tanked tremendously and causes supply and demand issues, like with the GI Joe Classified crap.

And I think BBTS will start charging an NRD on anything encroaching $100 pretty soon.

Okay, so, if you go browsing, you’ll notice a trend on BBTS. The hot ticket items that people know they can turn around and sell for a profit, that’s all sold out.

For instance, reissues of figures that have gone for a lot of money in the past—the Figuarts SSJ3 Goku, Mafex TDKR 3.0 Batman. The exception seems to be most Bishoujo figures. I’m sure the resellers will pick up on that market soon enough.

And most of their Hot Toys figure pre-orders sell out. Anything that people think will be big. Or could be big. Once it’s released though, some will open up to order and a good portion of them sit there for a long while.

I do find it odd when stuff like the Figuarts Launch figure sells out. I mean, is there really a market for that or did they just not order enough? It’s all just speculation and careful observation, at the end of the day. It is telling though, when you see what’s left in stock, when searching up some of these toy lines on their site.

It’s not there yet, but we’re only a few years off from it. The toy industry is headed for a crash, there can be no doubt about that. This won’t affect things that are essentially made to order, like statues. Sideshow, Prime 1, all of them will do just fine.

Even Hasbro won’t suffer too much. Bandai might limp on, due to Gundam and Dragon Ball. Everyone else? You’re in some deep shit. Yes, this includes Neca and Hot Toys.
