One way is that you can jump on her head to stun her (doesn't always work) then quickly go behind her and get a deathblow. You can then bait her past the bridge near the stairs and she doesn't seem to attack in that area and gets stuck in a trance (which can be broken if you're too aggressive). Attack her from behind, wait until she blocks, move behind her again and attack. Repeat.

If she somehow falls off the bridge, you will need to restart again from idol.

Welp, I’m roadblocked again finally. The damn Guardian Ape. I just don’t know how to fight this damn thing. I appreciate the more traditional sword clashes in this game and have come to loathe anything unique like this. It’s not my idea of fun.

Ugh, I can get his first phase down easy, but something about the second phase is kicking my fucking ass. I can’t seem to find a weakness? Or an opening? What is it? I can’t even kite him over to a corner to cheese. He’s too big for that.

Yep. I legitimately suck at phase 2. I have no clue how you’re supposed to beat this. Running around and waiting for an opening doesn’t work and his moves are so goddamn hard to read, so deflecting is too risky.

Honestly, I’d kill for a bow with 400 arrows right about now. Or an npc summon. This is the only fight I’m actually not sure I can beat this time. And I hear bird boy is worse.

His weakness is the centipede in his body during second phase. You have to block his normal attacks 2-3 times correctly iirc, then he does a follow up where he raises his sword in the air with a swirl motion and falls forward and hits you with it. Block that and he'll be stunned for a bit in which you can use the spear to pull out the centipede - press R2 to thrust then R2 again once spear connects to pull the insect out to do some big damage on him (not double tapping R2 quickly like I was wrongly doing the first time).

The screaming attack of his is a one hit kill so either run the fuck away quick or use the umbrella to shield yourself.

Dear god, that was the longest fight of the game so far. Got him on the third try. I had to use all 9 healing gourds, all five divine confetti (on phase two), the purple gourd, all three pellets, all three ungo’s sugar and only barely had half health and my one allotted revive.

You can actually cheese him, I guess. He has a brief moment where he does this slide and, assuming you run to the left of it, you won’t get hit and can close in for a single hit and run. It was difficult to read whether he was going to retaliate in kind or terrorize my eardrums. Most of the time it’s the roar.

How do people enjoy that fight? Jesus Christ. It’s as annoying as Orin. Phase one, sure. It was interesting. Then it just goes downhill.

And yeah, I read about the centipede spear trick before I even got up to this point. So, I knew about it going in. I tried using it, but I rarely use this spear, so I was clearly doing it wrong.

Wow, the game jumps up a fuckton in difficulty when you get back to Ashina Castle. I’m honestly kinda tired of playing the game, lol. I think I’m either done or just going to come back to it later.

I don’t want to stress out over some bullshit bosses I’ve already killed before. How many goddamn ninja do I have to fucking kill, for fucks sake.

The only thing I think I’ll do for the foreseeable future is grind out all the skills and see where I’m at afterwards, because to hell with trying to kill these minibosses on a work day.

Ashina Castle gets swarmed with shinobi towards the end of the game, plus all that is on the way to a boss as well. You can get deathblows on 'em and Puppeteer technique if you want to fuck around.

You can skip your way past them and head straight to where you fought Genichiro to see Owl on the roof if you time it. I would choose the second option (break iron code) as while he's tough, the woman is meant to be harder and then you fight Isshin straight away afterwards I believe. Not a prime Isshin, mind you.

The divine dragon boss is one of the easiest in the game but it's the most unique and so damn beautiful to look at. Luckily you don't actually kill him.

I defeated headless ape again and his partner in the cave. It was a piece of cake this time for some reason. Then I noticed his body didn't disappear so I severed his immortality and put him to rest.

Just defeated Isshin over an hour ago to finally finish the game. Got the purification ending though I missed out on two missable pearls to get a max health bar.

It's been a wild ride but I gracefully bow out and retire from this game.
