Resident Evil 4 Remake - 9/10

I forgot to rate it. Best remake in awhile. But it's got a lot of fucking problems that drive me nuts. One sticking point I want to mention since it was apparent trying to play on Pro casually, is there's no incentive to even kill enemies. It's too much of a risk on that difficulty, to the point it's not fun and you're more forced to just run away from the mid level enemies. Specifically the Brute with the cow head (or udders since the one streamer I watch calls him that and it kinda stuck)

The Last of Us Part I - 7/10. I'm rating it worse then the original because it did nothing to justify its existence. It's honestly probably the worst version to play just for downgrades like movement, enemy AI and nothing new. I'm only glad they didn't change the story to justify the sequel since I'd be so mad if they justified Abby or her stupidity in any way.

If it's someone's first time and that bought it budgeted, 8/10. For someone whose played PS3 and PS4 multiple times....I expected better. Can someone point out the improvements and differences
I heard the PC port is completely bugged out.

I love how this happened right after that post. Also forgot to mention, I've had music not play outright or stop randomly. Mainly after restarting at points.

It sounds like they didn't even bug test it. I saw one bug where Joel had completely black skin for some reason.

Well at least TLOU is more inclusive now

But on a real note...PS5 ain't game breakingly buggy at least. I'm surprised this may be the buggiest PS5 game I've played though.

There's SO much screen tearing towards the end of Left Behind and sound totally goes out, and it is not my system or copy because I bought everything new. Holy shit. I'm not sure if this was in the original PS3 or 4 versions since I didn't play Left Behind then.

God of War Ragnarok - 8/10. Was pleasantly surprised by how much better it was over 2018, I'd rate it higher but I can't stand playing as Atreus. He really brought the game down that much because they clearly had no idea how to make him play. Some story beats...also annoyed me too and some sequences. Otherwise, it's pretty good. Not my GOTY from 2022, not my favorite God of War, but still I enjoyed it and wanted to see it through.

Tried to replay FFVII Remake on PC.
Boy, shit's bad... Like, REALLY fucking bad in so many ways.
I don't remember ever being so bored playing a video game...
The port is still ugh, almost two years and they didn't do shit to fix it.

Finally got spare time to try out "Armored Core 6".
So far this is exactly what fans wanted 10 years ago.
People who are new to AC most likely wont appreciate it tho.

I'd rate it higher but I can't stand playing as Atreus. He really brought the game down that much because they clearly had no idea how to make him play.
Yep, he's the worst part of the game. His gameplay is awful and a lot of his segments are just long unskipable cutscenes. For such an important character he isn't written that well and his persona isn't as interesting as it could be. And then there's the actor... he's just not good at acting and his voice is completely charmless.

It pains me to say it but Atreus can be pretty uninteresting when the focus is primarily on him in Ragnarok. Gameplay wise, he plays terribly period especially by God of War standards. You're completely right about the cutscenes with him too and they're not that interesting, also since you have to walk with him in 90% of those 'cutscenes'...it's the worst of both worlds. With his story overall, I think it's fairly predictable at times. I wasn't that interested in his Jotun stuff at all.

I say in Ragnarok, since Atreus was fine enough in 2018. He particularly works well in showing Kratos's growth. As for the actor...feels like his direction was pretty shitty. But it does stand out badly since I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Ragnarok's voice acting though since I knew some of the cast, I may be somewhat biased.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is one game in which I will never, ever agree with the complaints. It is in every conceivable, possible way the single best Final Fantasy game ever made and even one of the top five greatest games I’ve ever played. I have never gone from caring so little about a particular franchise game (the original) to being damn near obsessed.

I have so many of the Play Arts figures that I have all the main and sub characters. I’ve got wall scrolls, mouse pads, t-shirts, lanyards, keychains, mini figs, 1/6 figures, the works. I even converted my standard copy of FFVII Remake to the deluxe edition, which had cost an additional $80 to do, at the time of release. I went balls deep with the franchise. I have even considered getting a life-sized Tifa. 😂

I have a lot of final fantasy games, but it’s mostly just rehashes of the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy, FF15, FFX and X-2, FF12 and both mmos. I do have the entire Play Arts FF13 cast from the first game and the Dissidia Lightning figure.

None of that holds a candle to how much I’ve spent on FFVII though. And I am getting a PS5 for the sole purpose of playing Rebirth. Nothing else matters much to me until maybe Ghost of Tsushima 2. I might not even touch Demons Souls and I already that on PS5.

I can respect that. For me, FFVIIR felt like a bad remake of a decent FF. It drags way too much, has tons of unnecessary padding, most of its characters are flat as a pancake, writing and acting is overly Japanese in the worst way possible. Most of the changes made to the original are poorly thought out and pretty tasteless (what they did to Barret is unforgivable).

Anyway, after this I'm actually looking forward to playing FFXVI on PC. Sometimes it's good to put things in perspective.

FFXVI looks pretty good.

And FF7 remake feels like it has just the right amount of Japanese. Frankly, it could use more, because a lot of games that used to have that feeling don’t have it at all anymore. Capcom games are a good example. They entirely lost all the Japanese charm that they used to have.

I think Barrett was done fine? I will admit, I didn’t really care for his ass initially, but he grew on me halfway through the game. Maybe even sooner than that. And the original game had a lot of the same padding, from what I’ve been told by people that played the original.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was so good in my opinion, that it may as well be in my top three games ever made. And so far, Rebirth looks amazing. It may not be quite up to the same level as part one, but it will still be pretty high, I’m sure.

Those people should check their brains for leaks. Yes, both the original and ""remake" take around 35 hours to complete... BUT the "remake" covers less than a third of the original's story content. The padding is very real and it's boring as nine hells.

In regards to Barret, he was a good character in Japanese original, but they rewrote him for US version. Instead of going back to roots they went full Murica, so now he's this angry black guy from your average anime, completely cartoonish and barely relatable.

I'm not an FF dude, but is that not par for the course for the series, Square Enix and most games....? At least having a lot of stuff. I've never actually seen anyone complain about the padding in the original, if anything, they like it a lot.

On Capcom and their lack of Japanese charm, it's a weird call because on one hand, most of those games take place in America and on some level I feel Capcom wanted to have an appeal to them. On the other hand, we know going so far as to westernize (or whatever) their franchises hurt badly. RE Definitely had this problem for a while, and it's at least to a lesser extent now.

There was a lot of extra fluff in the original. There’s a lot of stuff in the trailer for Rebirth that looks like side games and mini-games.

At any rate, FFVII is so good that I think it’s better off for being two or three parts. Now, did Harry Potter need to have the final movie split into two parts? Probably not. Twilight? Nope. And definitely not Fast and Furious.

I have zero issue with Final Fantasy VII being multiple parts. You want to play a truly boring Final Fantasy… play FFXV. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the game, but holy fuck.

Harry Potter had no reason being split up since Part 2 was good, and Part 1 was...a pain. Fast and Furious as well especially with how brainless it is. Twilight has no reason existing lmao.

I’m dead serious about being obsessed enough to get a life-sized Tifa. I have her in my cart on a certain website, but I’m waiting to see if they update her to make her look more realistic and then onto a payment plan she goes. And maybe I’ll actually have the money for it in a few years. 😂

Rebirth looks better, but it's not a high bar to clear what the previous game did. But there 100% will be no world map.
