All the "yautja" fans project their disgusting comic book crap onto original two filmS. Yes, plural, as in the post you've quoted. Not a single thing in P2 makes City Hunter or the other ones look honorable or whatever. They're just guys hunting for sport, and that's what actually made them interesting and three-dimensional, unlike cartoony barbarians from paper media.
I will only grant that honor can genuinely subjective in complex situations irl, but that doesn't apply here, words have definitions, and they indeed gave the predators an honor code in the second movie. It literally said by Hopkins himself, it's the whole reason Elder gave Harrigan a gun instead of killing the CH for failing, which is what the end would have been. If simply watching the movie somehow doesn't make it clear to you... it is literally spelled by the director, like it or not. But if watching something in the first place isn't enough for you to understanding it then your problem runs deeper
But just so you know that you're absolutely wrong about the matter, let's look at the definition of Honor:
moral behavior
- [uncountable] the quality of knowing and doing what is morally right
reputation
- [uncountable] a good reputation; respect from other people. Upholding the honor of your country .The family honor is at stake.
award
- [countable] an award, official title, etc. given to someone as a reward for something that they have done. To win the highest honor He was buried with full military honors (= with a special military service as a sign of respect)
Was the CH honorable for sparing Leona when he noticed she was pregnant? in the definition by oxford it says you have to not only act morally but know morality. I doubt he actually cared emotionally about the baby, I'm still gonna be generous with this one and say I get why some would argue this one, since I think a mind obsessed with credentials and "source" would give up on common sense for this example. But I think it is an example of honor, it's common sense, doing something that is moral or immoral is not dependent on the knowledge of the perpetrator, murdering without knowing its wrong is immoral anyway, sparing an innocent life is moral whether you know it or not.
Was Greyback giving Harrigan Adolini's gun an act of honor? by definition it was. There is nothing wrong with disliking the honor system, but denying its reality because of it is just silly and childish. And again, the director himself wanted this and calls it HONOR CODE
The "contradiction" of them killing some people but letting others live is where the subjective opinions collide, questioning their honor code is one thing, denying it
exists is something else entirely
If you have warm feeling for those comics then more power to you, but they have nothing to do with the movies.
I almost understand your dismissive and snarky tone to the comic book fans, but I don't like the predator comics any more than any other comic book, for me it's the lowest form of entertainment. My only issue is replacing an ok story with a retarded one. Replacing the story is not an issue, it was a given, but Adolini could have been a better character, it's that simple, no more no less. Surely what I meant isn't hard to understand now
