I've been flirting with the Riobot Sahelanthropus for a while now, and I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger, anyone here has it that cares to share his opinions? Maybe spam some pics?

I wonder if I'll feel the same way about MGSV down the line? Yes it's clearly unfinished, but I think I get where Kojima was going with the idea of control of language equating to control in general. We seem to be hurtling headfirst into some hideous globalised McMonoculture that tacitly demands everyone speak English. After reading about Sapir-Worfianism recently, I have to wonder just how badly that's going to affect the world.
I think you're onto something, language is being severely policed on one end, and completely deconstructed/twisted on the other. We're being compelled to shape our perception of reality through a narrow spectrum of the politically correct, while at the same time removing meaning from words, and all of it through language.

This along with the fact that we're living in a post-fact world, we can't really fact-check anything ourselves, we have to believe what's presented to us in the usual channels (TV, movies, social networks, """science""" ), even though we have this constant nagging feeling that shit doesn't add up. Which is pretty much the entire atmosphere and theme of MGSV, of course all of this comes from 1984 at heart.

This along with the perpetual war in the middle east (MGS4) that is pretty much literally a proxy war for Is - ra - el.

Man, Kojima might not be the best game dev out there anymore (he probably is tho, just way too artsy), but he sure is the most pilled one.

I challenge that. Given he's claiming DS was based on Trump and Brexit... but the development started in 2015... and Trump and Brexit was the very end of 2016. It just shows that he was completely aimless for a year. No wonder his team reacted negatively to the first gameplay of the game.

As for the Sahelanthropus, I don't know much about it but it looks nice. I have the RIobot Anubis and Jehuty are pretty nice, but I would never pay what they want for this thing for such a small figure.

For some reason the design is calling out to me, I really like it, and it went on sale for like $150 when it came out cause nobody wanted it

I think nowadays it's back to retail price even on the secondary market, I don't think it's too expensive, it's good engineering after all, or at least that's what they say about Sentinel.

Did he really say DS was based on Brexit? :ROTFLMAO: that makes no sense.

Oh it definitely has a good design. I just feel the REX head doesn't look right on a Gundam body. It was another product of 80s tech hugely overshadowing technology later in the series.

The whole thing since PW was fanfiction

Man, he really was aimless, feels like he just had a bunch of cool concepts in his head that he didn't know how to implement, he's a big idea guy, but he can't get into the nitty gritty, and like I've seen you say, he can't write to save his life.

MGS2, MGS4 and MGSV make me think he's really w0k3 in the ways of the world, but reading that article makes him sound like an NPC, one thing is making connections as human beings, it's another thing entirely to equate that to open borders

He's been a sheltered AAA developer the bulk of his career, he doesn't know his ass from his elbow.

He can create a great outline of a game, but to go beyond that is an impossibility for him. He should just be a producer and let someone else write and direct it.

So, I caved and grabbed the Limtoys Quiet. Just the normal set. I already have a body for it though, as I have tons of spares at this point, so it wasn’t really too bad a purchase, considering that upgrading the Mr Toys set would cost another $90 and that’s mostly after grabbing the harness, boots and the rifle. Still, I cancelled some stuff to squeeze her in.

She seems to be selling out and the ebay prices are creeping upward. If you’ve been on the fence about her, get one now. It definitely seems to replace the other versions people have done. I kinda wanted the extra headsculpt that comes with the Sinful Butterfly set, but meh.

I still remember the PAK version being sold out everywhere. I got her and then sold her along with the rest of them. MGS is in desperate need of classic figures. I can't wrap my mind around why a third party hasn't done it yet and I'm sure Konami could give a shit about it.

I think Limtoys is going that route after they do a Stealth Suit Venom Snake. Almost certain of it. They may dabble in making an Ocelot before then, but I can’t see much else coming down the pipeline and he did say he was looking forward to starting work on MGS3 some time back.

Dear god, is it hard as hell to track down a 1/6 black cassette tape. I didn’t realize that the Guilty set was lacking the cassette tape and the idroid. Managed to get the idroid on eBay, but I’m having no luck finding a cassette tape... from any figure.

Spent most of this morning touching up Quiet’s headsculpt. I’m not sure why Jack didn’t have these guys bag the heads, but whatever.

The tip of the nose had the skintone rubbed away and I had to come up with a blend of skin tones to match. A little light dry brushing and a few hours later and I actually think she looks more natural now. I’ll try to take a pic when I’m home. I don’t normally take pics of anything these days, as I’m not really much into showcasing anymore.

For some reason, the matte varnish I use doesn’t seem to be completely matte. Her face still looks a tad shiny, but I think it works. Now, I’m just waiting on the spare head with the butterfly pattern effect around her eyes, as well as the idroid.

Also had to pick up another rifle, as I nearly snapped the bolt lever on the current one. Whoever thought up the idea to give it a movable part and then to proceed to NOT make it out of metal... ugh.

A bit hard to make out. It’s more noticeable in person. There’s a very slightly pink tinge to her nose area, as if she was a heavy drinker for a few good years.

Please remake SH and don’t really care for Silent Hills since it’ll probably be first person and not a Norman fan.... I only care for SH-2-3.

Not gonna lie, if they do remakes of the MGS series that might be good thing. I just hope they have a roadmap more than Kojima did. Because MGSV was so full of plotholes it still feels empty as a closure to a series to me.

I’m down for Silent Hill. I feel like MGS only has one game left at best.
