Hellraiser revival in the works

It's going to be an "evolved reimagining" of the original film and will be getting a worldwide theatrical release, unlike the last direct-to-video releases. I only watched the original a few years ago for the first time but I really enjoyed it. Haven't seen the sequels yet but I know they don't match up to the original.

I like seeing old horror icons revived and given some new life, so I'm intrigued. Pinhead was female in the books, right?

Doug Bradley as Pinhead or they can suck it. In the book he/she had a breathy voice and somewhat feminine features but was never defined as either. God I hope the hollywood execs dont figure out Pinhead was androgynous.

Well the article makes it sound like the people involved have done some good work and are fans of barkers...I’m not sure how I feel about the term reimagining hmm. Also hope it’s not just a jump scare fest like most modern horror films

Unless it’s Doug with Clive directing, the “reimagining” can fuck off.

Hell bound was an inferior sequel but it’s still a great sequel in the grand scheme of horror sequels.

Hellbound wasnt bad at all. Not in comparison to all the trash that followed. The only decent part in three was the stuff about Elliot Spencer. Only thing good in four was Angelique and the creation of the box. Most everything after was pure trash though I did enjoy Inferno for some reason.

I think it's just inferior in the sense that it killed off the main antagonist. Like, people were drawn to the series solely due to Pinhead. I really do like the plot overall in HB.

I’ve not liked any of these past maybe the first two. This is one series I don’t see surviving for very much longer. Chucky either.

The later ones just reuse the same plot. It's always some detective investigating "murders."

That's sort of true. Inferno had that plot and Hellseeker just repeated it. Didn't Deader do it as well? Hellword was the house party flick. Urg. Too bad Clive hasnt given a crap about these since the first flick. There might have been a little quality control if he had.

Pinhead became too big of a thing in mainstream, which ruined the franchise. There's so much to it, so many cool stuff and characters.... yet everyone cry about not havin' Doug Bradley... If this is another Pinhead masturbation then I don't care. I'm sick of him.
