IV's story was presented decently but a lot of it is stuff you've seen in other stories by this point like Niko having a revenge plot, being haunted by his past, finding out his true friends and so on. V has some of that (namely Michael being haunted by Trevor and so on) too now that I recall. It...didn't feel as fun messing around Los Santos though.

That said I am too mixed on the three protagonists. Michael clearly doesn't want part of anything but still chose to get involved, Franklin comes off as a bit weak willed (especially in the 'kill the other protagonist endings'), Trevor is so batshit insane but he actually has some points.

I was wondering if it was just me that Franklin felt like a retread! You're right wow.

Yeah I thought he was terrible immediately. It's more of a Michael and Trevor game and Franklin just exists.

Franklin probably is just there for a different perspective as he's much younger then Michael and Trevor, and less experienced. Probably could have been interesting if they invoked more Father-Son vibes with Michael and Franklin since in the kill Michael ending, Michael mentions that and he is definitely more concerned over Franklin's well being then Trevor while Trevor seems to consider Franklin an equal. Seemed like that was half baked.

I definitely feel Michael and Trevor were the focus, especially with a lot of particular missions and the prologue.
