Hulu Ghost Rider

Marvel is developing a live-action Ghost Rider series for Hulu. Now, Variety has confirmed that Gabriel Luna will be starring on the series as Robbie Reyes.

Luna made his debut as Robbie in the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the successor to Johnny Blaze, the original Ghost Rider. After Robbie and his brother, Gabe, were in a car accident caused by local gang members, Reyes became the new Spirit of Vengeance. Gabe also lost the use of his legs in that accident. Robbie was last seen taking the Darkhold into another dimension after helping the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents defeat the LMD known as AIDA.

Variety’s report suggests that Robbie will be back on Earth and living near the Texas/Mexico border when the series premieres. However, they also revealed that the show serves as “a completely new iteration of the character in no way connected to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. storyline.” However, doesn’t make much sense to cast Luna and immediately throw out his earlier appearances. Presumably Marvel will also offer some kind of explanation when Ghost Rider gets his own show.

Didn't watch AOS past the first season, so don't know what their take was on GR. Though I dig the use of a Charger.

I watched a couple episodes with Ghost Rider on AOS but didn't finish the series. I thought they did a pretty damn good job with the effects considering they were on a TV budget and weren't sure if they were going to get another season. I wish it was the original Ghost Rider, but maybe they'll throw in a cameo of him here and there like in the comics.

I love old Chargers and nearly all Challengers... but for Ghost Rider? Really? Never understood the sneakers either.

Why can’t they just do the Johnny Blaze version and do it right? They had the look down in the Nic Cage sequel. Ugh.

I mean yeah it was stranger for me to see ghost driver instead of rider but it was still pretty good

The car definitely wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. Hopefully they’ll introduce other Ghost Riders in the series though.

The character in AoS was way too old and too brooding for Robbie Reyes.
The whole crippled brother thing was forced and out of place, plus the boy's acting was pure cringe.
I'm not even gonna talk about the fact that Reyes wasn't an actual Ghost Rider in comics.

If this is the same character then I'm not interested in the slightest.
Luna is fine, I like him, but it shouldn've been an entirely new character instead of this poorly mixed classic and modern.
