DOOM PATROL reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of Super Heroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (BRENDAN FRASER), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (MATT BOMER), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (APRIL BOWLBY) and Crazy Jane (DIANE GUERRERO), led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief (TIMOTHY DALTON). Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found their purpose through The Chief, coming together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence. Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg (JOIVAN WADE), who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

STARRING
Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, Timothy Dalton, April Bowlby, Diane Guerrero, Matt Bomer, Alan Tudyk, Matthew Zuk, Riley Shanahan

I still haven’t started it. Maybe I’ll give it a go this weekend. Everything I’ve seen for it so far looks good though. The episode with them in Titans was great.

I'm genuinely surprised by how good this has been, especially considering I'm still hate-watching The Flash...

The commercials make it look like crap. So I'm reluctant to even try it. Definitely won't pay for it.

First two episodes are great. Third is a bit of a dip in quality, but it gets on track again after that. The only part of it I don't think really works is Jane. A mix of bad writing and the actress not really being up to playing that many split personalities convincingly makes the character way more unlikeable than she should be, at least in my opinion.

I finally started watching this. I've made it through six episodes so far and have to say that I'm enjoying it for the most part. It's definitely an oddball show--which is fitting because the comics were always weird. It's more adult-oriented than I was expecting--though after Titans I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Not a lot of nudity, but there's some violence and a TON of swearing. "Fuck" is probably said about 20 times an episode. Sometimes the swearing fits, but other times it's unnecessary and feels awkward.

Saw the freebie episode a while back and finally binged it this week and,.........

I can say without question this is the best comic book TV that has ever been made by anyone. This show was awesome. I loved how adult it was without being gratuitous about it. I don't know much about any of these characters beyond Cyborg, but everyone was well cast and performed those roles believably. I can't think of a single character in it that I didn't like. Even the fucking street was good. Prolly Frazier as the standout. All of his "WTF?" And Crazy Jane, if anyone on the should have gotten naked it was her. It was funny, absurd, dark, romantic, morbid and mean. Even at 15 episodes it never let down. There didn't seem to be any filler. Just well fleshed out character development.

I can't believe there isn't more talk of this show. I would buy figures of Negative Man and Robotman right now.

But naw, we have to suck off Endgame and Star Wars........

Danny the Street was just a little bit too much for me, even if it was accurate to the Grant Morrison comics. Still an excellent series and way better than I ever would have expected the Doom Patrol to get.

I agree. I thought the entire show was fantastic. In Titans, a lot of the adult stuff like swearing and killing seems gratuitous, but it all fit with Doom Patrol. It’s rare when a show checks every box, but this one did it.
