Been thinking about ways to bring back DMC2 costume vibe without the edgelordiness of emo Dante from that "game". Then I gave up and just tried to recolor classic Dante to see if it looks good enough. What do yall think?

The DmC Dante isn’t as bad as a lot of the shit that they put out now. My biggest gripe with him is still that the director gave him his own inspired emo hairstyle and also made Dante a smoker. He’s not as pizza hungry either, but he still runs his mouth like the original Dante. I think he would be so much worse if he were “remade” today though.

 I meant "Devil May Cry 2" where Dante is an angsty introvert who looks like a vamp, fleeps a coin and has the least spoken lines.

Couldn't care less for DmC Donte, a punky trash. The less I'm reminded of that reboot the better.

Not too bad, I like it. Has lots of potential.

It was so weird since...it didn't really fit that games' weird ass vibe...

Honestly yeah, he was also imo painfully generic even for the 2010s. Regular Dante has the potential for darker, more serious moments but you have to balance it out which is a theme I think. Reboot didn't work, and they tried to make him too cool but it was laughable. He had his moments though and the game itself played ok, I'll take it over 2 and in some regards maybe 1 only since 1 is aged. In fact on the note of 2...DmC feels WEIRDLY similar to it at times with being urban, mundane and so on.

I actually think you have a point on him being 'remade' if...god forbid if it ever happened. I will totally say - you can't convince me the fans weren't over blowing everything about the reboot out of proportion. I knew some morons who kept saying 'I hoPE rE6 fAILzed' because they thought THAT GAME doing badly would somehow convince Capcom to redo DmC. I never understood the 'logic'.

They should really remake DMC1 and 2, but in my option, I think it would just be worse. Yes, worse than the original DMC2.

Neither would be worse then DMC 2, not at all because DMC 2 is so brain dead it's not even fun at all. But a DMC 1 remake absolutely would lose a lot of the charm and appeal the original has. The RE vibes were so cool that I can't picture the game without it. DMC 2 would be better but I don't know how you can save that story. You'd have to make it almost its own game. I don't think DMC 5 even acknowledges DMC 2's existence.
