Netflix has set the main cast for its live-action Cowboy Bebop series, and Star Trek's John Cho will star as Spike Spiegel.

Also on board are Mustafa Shakir (Marvel’s Luke Cage) as Spike's partner Jet Black, Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom; What/If) as "bold, brash and unpredictable bounty hunter" Faye Valentine, and Alex Hassell (The Miniaturist; Suburbicon) as the Syndicate’s most notorious hitman and Spike's arch-enemy, Vicious.

There's no word on who'll be portraying Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, a.k.a Radical Ed.

Really, John Cho? Not that this was needed anyway but still..

To be honest, Faye looks like shit with that wardrobe change and making Jet a black dude was gonna happen no matter what. All because I think he’s “voiced” by a black guy in the English dub. Which is a completely idiotic trend in itself—just because a voice actor is a certain race, doesn’t mean the character needs to be changed to match it.

Faye at least does look a little Asian in the anime. Spike looks heavily mixed with something. He’s definitely got some kind of European blood in him. Having a mixed Asian or a white guy would’ve been fine. As it is, Harold doesn’t fit the bill. The suit is nice though, I guess.
